Hist 1302:Student Introduction

What’s up world, my name is Raven, but I go by Rae. I am a senior majoring in Liberal Arts and Humanities with a focus on English and poetry. I expect to graduate this summer. One interesting fact about me is that I have already written and published one poetry book. Writing poetry is not only my passion, but also my long-term goal, as I plan to continue growing as an author and spoken-word artist. I am taking HIST 1302 because it is a requirement for me to graduate. I hope to learn more about United States history since 1877, especially how historical events have shaped modern society and Texas history. I have taken a history course before, which was History 1301, and I enjoyed learning how history has changed over time and how past events still affect us today. I am looking forward to building on that knowledge in this course.

I am comfortable using technology because I am a content creator. I consistently post family-based content, which has helped me learn how to use different digital tools. Below is a photo of me and a video link from my YouTube channel that represents my creativity and love for writing and poetry.

I feel extremely comfortable using technology for class assignments because I use it daily to create and share content. One of my biggest strengths in this course is my willingness to learn new things and adapt to different digital tools. I enjoy improving my skills and finding better ways to complete my work. One challenge I expect this semester is staying fully organized and keeping up with all required documents and readings on time. However, I am committed to improving my time management so I can stay on track and succeed.

Appreciate your time!
